HCA is seeking a Committee Secretary (volunteer role)

Committee Secretary needed (volunteer role).png

The Hāwea Community Association is a voluntary based organisation, advocating for our Hāwea community. Due to our current Secretary moving into a different role within the organisation, we’re looking for someone with strong sense of community and experience in administration who can take over the secretarial role.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for someone who wants to make a key difference in the success of the committee and projects we’re involved in.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with Chairperson to prepare agenda for monthly meetings

  • Attending and taking minutes at the HCA monthly meeting on a Tuesday evening with the committee (in Lake Hāwea).

  • Transcribing and formatting minutes, uploading to google drive.

  • Collating reports from various sub-committees.

  • Monitoring the shared inbox along with the communications team, responding and forwarding e-mails.

The Secretary role takes approximately 15 hours per month. Full training is provided and a supportive team, including the immediate past Secretary will be on hand to assist as required.

We will also be looking to fill the following positions AGM on 6th November 2021:

  • Chairperson

  • Vice Chairperson

  • Assistant Secretary

  • Committee Member

  • Guardians Sub-Committee Member

We look forward to hearing from any interested potential volunteers!
