Township Rezoning

Proposed District Plan

Lake Hāwea’s zoning rules are to fall into line with the rest of QLDC

QLDC has approved the Proposed District Plan’s proposal to enable the Hāwea zoning rules for the township to fall into line with the rest of the QLDC.

Lake Hāwea’s Urban Growth Boundary

QLDC has decided not to extend Lake Hāwea’s Urban Growth Boundary.

Streets Development Ltd and Universal Developments have appealed this decision. If they win their appeal and the Urban Growth Boundary moves it will enable development of land south of Cemetery road beyond what has already received Resource Consent. In other words Universal developments would be able to develop land in addition to the Special Housing Area (SHA) which would not be constrained by the SHA deed and Streets would be able to reduce the size of the sections in their development.
